Summer Vacation Science Workshop!

Can Vegetables Really Grow in Water?!

~ Discover Soil-Free Gardening! ~

On Monday, August 3, 2026, I had the pleasure of hosting a workshop at a community center in Yokohama, Japan:

"Summer Vacation Science Project! Can Vegetables Grow in Water?! ~ Growing Vegetables Without Soil ~"

As this was my very first workshop, I am deeply grateful to the community center staff for giving me such a wonderful opportunity.

Five students participated—four elementary school students and one junior high school student—along with their parents.

I spent a great deal of time preparing because I wanted to share as much as possible with the children. It turned out to be an incredibly meaningful day, and I learned so much from the experience myself.

Hydroponic gardening isn't just for summer vacation—it can be enjoyed all year round, and you can sow seeds anytime.

If you're interested in this workshop, I'd be delighted to hear from you. Please feel free to get in touch!
