2nd Vacant House Open Day – @Yokohama

Earlier this spring, in a vacant house on a hilltop in Yokohama,the team at Kotorabo × irodori launched an exciting new project —one that envisions a place to enrich our local lifestyle and landscape,while turning heartfelt “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could…” ideas into real actions for the future of our community.

On Sunday, July 6th, the beautifully refreshed space hosted the 2nd Vacant House Open Day. Under the shared theme of “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could…”,I had the wonderful opportunity to present a small display of indoor hydroponic gardening. Thanks to the warm support of everyone at Kotorabo × irodori, it turned into a truly joyful and meaningful experience. I am sincerely grateful.

Of course, vegetables that grow strong and delicious in open fields under full sunlight are wonderful.But especially with today’s intense summer heat,there’s something uniquely appealing about growing leafy greens in a cool indoor corner —watching them grow, enjoying the process, and savoring the fresh harvest.

This little experience became the first step in my journey to share the joy of hydroponic gardening with more people.
